With plethora of higher education choices, conventional and non-traditional career options open to students, career counselling has become an essential service at the senior high school level. Career counselling is a continuous initiative at Indian Language School, Lagos. It begins in Grade IX and continues until students have completed their Grade XII board exams. Students are exposed to the different subjects available to them in plus two and further at the university level in grades IX and X. Students are given ample information to make an informed decision by the time they are expected to choose their subjects for Grade XI.

Students have frequent interactions with the counsellor and industry experts from famed universities in India and abroad which helps them decide their future career option and take the steps necessary to pursue that career. Education fairs and webinars featuring universities from USA, Canada, and many more countries are organized to facilitate better understanding of the available options and make students aware of the requirements for international admissions like the SAT, TOEFL, IELTS etc.

Students are also enlightened about the upcoming niche careers which have a very high potential in the job market. Providing guidance on Profile building, understanding internships, Letter of Recommendations, transcripts, predicted grades, updates about new courses and universities, admission deadlines and entrance exam preparation tips form an integral part of the career counselling services.
