SCIENCE DAY

Science Day activities in school provide an opportunity to acknowledge the contribution of scientists to the world of knowledge. Keeping this fact in mind, Indian language school had various activities to motivate the students towards science. Science Quiz on Indian Scientists was conducted for Junior Category. Students of grade IX TO XII enthusiastically participated in Science Walk where they had to ramp walk posing themselves as a scientist showcasing their work. ‘Psychology Behind Bullying’ was the topic for the Science Talk show. Few energetic students participated in Paint Science activity to show their love for the subject

Republic day

India’s 71st Republic Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and pride across the school campus. The audience were mesmerized by the soulful singing of the ILS choir. To showcase the diverse and unique culture of India, several beautiful tableaux comprising students were exhibited. The homage paid at the ‘Amar Jawan Jyoti’ to commemorate the martyred and unknown brave soldiers of the Indian Armed Forces was the show stopper. The history of India gives a glimpse into the magnanimity of its evolution and the rich heritage delineates its rich vibrant diverse traditions. On this day every Indian heart fills up with patriotic fervor and immense love for their motherland.

Activity based learning

Activity Based Learning – a process of learning by doing. It encourages students to actively participate in their own learning experience through practical activities such as problem solving and independent investigation. Students imbibe through Exploration, Experimentation and Expression. This child-friendly educational aid which fosters self-learning and allows a child to study according to his or her aptitude and skill has become a part and parcel of the teaching learning process at ILS. The teacher here is only not the evaluator but is the facilitator, knowledge imparter and the disciplinarian. ILS ascertains – Every child is gifted. They just unwrap their packages at different times.

B.B. Garg Memorial Debate

The prestigious B.B. Garg Debate is an annual event held in memory of the founder. The much-awaited event witnessed a flurry of eminent school from all over Lagos taking part and fiercely competing for the winning post. This year eight schools participated in the debate. The students came up with strong arguments and emanated as good role models for their fellow schoolmates. All the speakers were confident, and their performance managed to impress the adjudicators.
